a lot of times i'll fall into deep thinking... i think about this site hernameisshin. how should i position this blog? should it be like a guide book (in terms of providing food guide/travel guide..etc) or should it just be a plain diary site? or both? i know guide book style blogs are very popular and useful, but sometimes i just felt it's too..systematic? (or even commercial). although i often find myself browsing through other bloggers' product review/travel guide/restaurant review posts as well... because they are indeed useful & handy! plus to be honest, nowadays there're really not many people who read a "plain-diary type of blog". it's like i don't even know that person, why would i spend time reading his/her diary, and try to understand his/her thoughts & emotions? (unless that blogger is super hot or something...lol) (or his/her writing is too beautiful to a point that makes me want to read more automatically). but the chances are simply too rare. i'm aware of all the above facts, but for some reasons i still feel those posts are too robotic, too marketing sort to speak.. (maybe those bloggers enjoy being a robot? i don't know..) anyways, with much said, i guess i'll keep on writing posts like i'm talking to myself, or write something only me understand. haha.
however, the beautiful photos will still remain of course~ i love photography too much : )
i've known a friend for many years since college. we met through xanga, that's right, xanga! it's the blog that i maintained for the longest time. and i've met a few friends through it, until today we are still friends. vera being one of them. even though we don't get to see each other often, but every time she comes to the state she will visit me. and i will go see her whenever i'm in taiwan. that's like our hang out pattern~ every time when i go back to taiwan, she'll always spend time planing which restaurant to take me to, i don't have to do any work, i just need to show up in front of her~ haha! last time we went to "we and me" which was a pretty artsy small café, and the food was great! this time, we went to a café branch from korea - cafe lugo. (she knows me well lol)
cafe lugo is located in taipei 101. its design elements are all coffee-related, almost like a tiny coffee museum~ like all the coffee beans, percolators, grinders...etc. and the whole store radiates in a warm brownish color. the time we went was christmas season, that's why there're tons of christmas decors!
personally i love the percolators & scoops ceiling lights. they are simply amazing. the metal reflection made the lights even brighter.
food wise... you guys know i'm not a coffee person, so i really can't give any comments about their coffee. all i can say is their cold brew was not too bitter. i managed to have several sips of it (not just one sip!) lol. it was pretty smooth.
the custard waffles looked boring but actually tasted pretty good! i wasn't hungry at all but i still finished the whole thing...haha! the outside was very crispy while inside was still soft and moist. oh how i love waffles~ vera got the tuna salad waffles, it looked yummy too.
after our chit chat time, we walked through 101 for a while. (i even bought a pants from zara!) outside 101 was super windy and raining.. but we insisted to take a photo with that famous love sign! i almost spit my water out when i saw that photo! what's up with my crazy hair?! LOL
i'll see you again hopefully this year, vera. let's keep on pursuing our dreams : )
